Your portrait session with Kelly Mooney Photography begins with a phone consultation to discuss photo styles and locations that best fit your objectives, as well as identifying the ideal wardrobe for your shoot. When your session is scheduled, we’ll send you a complete guide to help you plan your wardrobe, prepare your hair and makeup, and ensure that the shoot day focus will be on you and on having a great time. After your session, your best photos will be sent to you in an online gallery, where you will select your favorites. We will hand retouch each image and deliver the high-resolution files to you electronically, to enjoy and share as you wish!

Hair & Makeup Services

Kick It Up a Notch:

Professional hair and makeup is not just for models.  Many of our clients leverage professional styling services prior to their sessions. Our experienced partners will ensure that you are beautifully prepared to look great in front of the camera; it will also give you an added boost of confidence, which really helps if having your photos ranks right up there with jury duty or dental procedures! Depending on your needs, we have stylists who will meet at our studio or at your location. Likewise, we can schedule your visit with a local partner salon that offers a range of polished and camera ready looks.

Add Professional Hair and/or Makeup for $50 – $95

Hair & Makeup Tips:

*Avoid heavy foundations or tinted bases.

*Make sure your makeup is blended to ensure a smooth, natural look between your jaw and neckline. 

*Consider starting your session with a neutral lip, but bring brighter color to create a more dramatic look later in the session. 

*Make sure you’re freshly shaved or groomed, as five o’clock shadow is nearly impossible to remove in post-production.

If your hairstyle permits, start with your locks loose, and then pull hair back mid-way during the session to create a different look.

Bring your favorite tools for touch-ups: powder, hairbrush and spray; makeup wipes, and even your favorite lotion, as a little extra moisture on the face can give it a healthy glow.

I’m honored to work with the very talented Ashley Roda of Iconic Details, who works with my clients to help them level-up their session experience with incredible styling and wardrobe planning services. 

Ashley has created a package exclusive to Kelly Mooney Photography which includes an hour of her time at your home, helping you pull together signature looks that say as much about style as they do about your personal branding.  In your hour together, we will:

– Layout, accessorize and style one to two outfits per location/look;

– Photograph every statement-making outfit;

– Build a Pinterest “Look Book” for your reference before and during your session;

– Pack your clothing, accessories and shoes;

– Make a list of desired or missing items*

RETOUCHING DETAILS

All of our headshots are hand-retouched to create a very natural, polished look.  Standard retouching includes skin smoothing, teeth whitening, and flyaway hair reduction. Additional retouching services (i.e. – removing glass glare, adjusting body shape, adding/removing makeup and special effects, are available starting at $25 per image.
