35 Engaging, Fun Headshots in Two Hours: Esco Headshot Event
Case Study: Situation: Global manufacturing leader ESCO hosts an annual internal networking event for its Portland office, and invites participants to update their headshots during that time. Kelly Mooney Photography has been enlisted a few years running to provide headshots to ESCO staffers at this offsite event, and try to make up to 30 people feel comfortable and relaxed in the five-minute window we are given with each subject.
Suggestions: We coordinated with the leadership team at ESCO to have participants pre-register for time blocks, and provided specific instructions about where to meet at the offsite location at their appointed time. We also asked leadership to provide us a contact list for all the pre-registrants, to ensure we could contact them and invite them to their shoot if they were running late for their appointed time.
We provided the leadership team with an online magazine featuring tips about how to prepare for a headshot session, along with what-to-wear recommendations, that they delivered to all participating staffers.
Session: In five-minute time blocks, we invited each participant to join us outside of the session venue (thanks to the great weather), and gave each person the opportunity to pose in a variety of different setups to give them different options for standing, sitting and leaning. The experience was very relaxed and fun, with later participants telling us that they’d already heard they would love working with our team during the shoot itself.
Completed Work: We delivered the proofing gallery to our client the next day, complete with instructions they could forward to each participant. Using our online system, everyone was able to go in and create a folder featuring their favorite images, which we then retouched and delivered directly to each participant, as well as online via Dropbox (per the client’s request) to the leadership team for their use online.
“Thank you so much, Kelly! You made the event fabulous, and the pictures turned out GREAT!”
